Primrose Court Stud started in 2004 with the arrival of the imported pure bred Trakehner
W/B stallion Highfield Vivaldi.
We aim to breed a small number of quality Sport horses and ponies each year that will go on to excel in
any 3 of the Olympic disciplines and that are versitile enough to make exceptional mounts for Junior/Young Riders
and for all PC activities.They combine all the qualities of a top Pony but with the added grunt of the W/B movement and with
kind even temperaments.

Training-
Having worked and trained at the internationally renowned "Catherston Stud",home to the Dressage guru of her day
Jennie Loriston-Clarke, I there found my love for Dressage and everything that goes with it.I also was taught and given superb
exposiure to nearly all of our UK Native pony breeds and it was from this that my passion for Sport Ponies,breeding and
training them began. JLC was,and still is a huge ambassador for the Natives Breeds and also the now more refined British
Sport Pony and her well known pony stallion Catherston Nightsafe appears in the vast amount of German Riding pony lines we see
today compteing at the very top in Europe.
My interest for the breeding side of horses also took hold and I grasped the huge stud (as it was in those days) at Catherston
with both hands and learnt all I know today.I also competed and trained many horses whilst there and my one true favourite
who will always hold a special place in my heart was a truely spunky stallion called Catherston Dance in the Dark.He was great
fun to ride, had a huge heart even though he himself was little over 15.2hh and taught me a great deal (I still dream of
him today!)

We have been breeding producing European Sport Ponies (German Riding Ponies) for many years in the UK
prior to arriving in WA.We could see instantly that there was huge void here in Australia and so set
about to change this.Our first "Australian Sport pony" to be born was Highfield O'Phellea and she was
by Vivaldi out of the lovely arab mare O'Cecellea.O'Phellea gained extremly high marks at her foal
classifying in 2006.Her mother has gone on to produce the beautiful filly PC Copellea and we are awaiting a
third foal for her later this season.

Our stud-
We only use proven sires that are out or have been out succesfully competing, combining the best of
European and Australian bloodlines. Nearly all our broodmares have competed as well.
Many of our broodmares have produced stock that have now been exported overseas to commence their competition
careers.
Set in the heart of the Perth hills just a few minutes from Mundaring we have access to nearly 50
acres of good quality soils and undulating pasture which is an ideal place to be breeding and growing on young horses.
We try to show our young stock (time permitting!) so as to gain valuable experience in the show ring.
They are handled every day and we find this really helps set them up for life and is a very important
part of their training.
When purchasing a horse or pony from us you can be assured that he will have been fully prepared
and had the best possible start,has been raised on the correct diet for his age with added foal
supplements and will be ready for his new home and career.
