Dutch Gold retired at the end of 1992 having competed at Grand Prix level since 1985 and as a leading member of the British Team at the Seoul Olympics and the European Championships every year since 1985. Although more famous for his dressage, Dutch Gold has produced many very exciting eventers. Being ¾ Thoroughbred, he has all the speed and stamina required of today's modern equine athlete.

Catherston Springsteen is perhaps one of the most exciting horses Catherston Stud has bred to date. He is an eye-catching horse with tremendous presence, a beautiful head and neck and good length of rein. His paces are bold, expressive and off the ground and that is what makes him so special.
His sire Dutch Dream, is an extremely well bred horse by Dutch Gold out of a mare by Donauwind who sired the Los Angeles Olympic Silver medal winning showjumper Abdullah. Dutch Dream carries both dressage and jumping lines in his pedigree and has proved to be producing wonderful movers as well as jumpers and eventers. Dutch Dream, renamed Power Pack, was gelded at six years and is now a very successful advanced Dressage Horse in the USA.

The dam, Our Spring Fancy, was herself a Grade B showjumper being by the Dutch sire Saks out of Spring Fever, Judy Crago's International Show Jumper and winner of the Queen Elizabeth Cup among many other accolades. Our Spring Fancy is a proven dam of performance stock.

Catherston Springsteen

Catherston Springsteen qualified for the British dressage National Championships Advanced Medium and Prix St Georges in 2005.  He also qualified for the finals of the Rhinegold Potential Dressage Horse at the European Championships at Hickstead in 2003 and was short listed for the World Breeding Championships for Young Horses.

This horse has an extraordinary temperament and lovely manners both in and out of the stable. With these qualities and his fantastic paces, he is developing into a very high class stallion for dressage in the future. Catherston Springsteen is also a very bold and careful jumper and must be the stallion to help breeders breed their 'dream horse'.

Littledale Bright Star is a very impressive pony with lots of character and is a worthy replacement for his famous father Catherston Nightsafe. His ground covering strides and the powerful jump make him a serious prospect for the breeders of both horses and ponies to consider when trying to produce a smaller animal without sacrificing movement and performance.

His mother, Gwersyllt Town Mouse, was a much loved lead-rein, first ridden pony of impeccable breeding with some of the best Welsh and riding pony bloodlines available.

His sire, Catherston Nightsafe, is one of the most famous pony stallions ever produced in this country. A prolific winner in-hand and under saddle, Catherston Nightsafe was the Lloyds Bank Supreme In-Hand Champion at Royal Bath & West, Supreme Champion at the National Pony Show, West Midlands Stallion Show, New Forest Stallion Show.

Littledale Bright Stars' first crop of foals look very promising with many mares returning to him again this year.
